VALDOSTA — William Romain Spell, Sr., 83, of Lake Park passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, Fla. He was born on June 7, 1930 in Brooks County, Ga. to the late John D. & Civvie (Williams) Spell. For 40 years he and his family worked the land as a farmer. Following that he and his son, Danny began Spell Well & Pump. He also worked with IBEW local 511 as a Electrician.  Most recently he operated Grannie’s Corner and West Hill Flea Market. He was most passionate about spoiling his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Lee Spell, three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include to daughters and son-in-law, Judy Spell Lake Park, Cathy and Jerry Dozier, Valdosta; two sons and daughter-in-law, Danny and Carol Spell, Lake Park, William R. “Billy” Jr. and Laura Spell, Lake Park; grandchildren, William Romain, III and Melissa Spell, James Daniel and Jonna Spell, Regina Lee Jones, Tony and Debbie Broadwell, Aletha and Mike Bryan, Richard and April Wigle, Larry and Marie Dozier, Christa and Jimbo Lloyd, Danya Wills, Lance and Karen Whitmore, Maria Cowart; 29 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Stan and Diane Spell, Hahira.

The family would like to invite you to stop by his son’s residence Billy Spell, 5360 Golf Drive, Lake Park, GA 31636 from 2-6- p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 to celebrate his life.
