William Harry Sirmans, 88, of Lakeland, Ga., was called home to be with his Lord Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014. The Master has called home a master carpenter. He was born April 17, 1925 to the late William “Billie” Harris and Cena Irene Smith Sirmans in Lakeland (Mud Creek) Georgia. Mr. Harry was well known as a construction superintendent with the Howard Ray Construction Company for 43 years and loved farming and gardening. His last building project was constructing Christian Fellowship Church of Mud Creek where he was also a founding member. He was a Veteran serving with the United States Army during World War II Military Police PFC 1945 - 1946. Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Mable “Richardson” Sirmans, two brothers Homer K. and Edgar Sirmans, one sister Effie Louise Sirmans, and two sons-in-law, Jimmy Herndon and Billy Bowen.
Survivors include his daughter, Pat Bowen; Lakeland, Ga.; son, Bill Sirmans; Lakeland, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law; Randy and Cathy Sirmans; Lakeland, Ga.; son, Ricky Sirmans; Lakeland, Ga.; son; Robin Sirmans; Lakeland, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law; Tim and Rosemary Sirmans; Valdosta, Ga.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Beth and Joel Fulghum; Lakeland, Ga.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law; Christy and Mark Schremmer; Palatka, Fla.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Cena and Joey Sheppaed; Camp Lejeune, N.C.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Julia and Matt Bridges; Lakeland, Ga.; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Brian and Crystal Sirmans, Lakeland, Ga.; grandson; Brett Sirmans; Lakeland, Ga.; grandson, Avery Sirmans; Valdosta; great-grandchildren; Gracie Fulghum, Joshua Sirmans, Caleb Sirmans, Cheyenne Bridges, Joseph Stone, Hannah Schremmer, and Hailey Schremmer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 at the Christian Fellowship Church of Mud Creek with burial to follow in Fender Cemetery in Lanier County.
