David James Steel, 50, of Valdosta, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at his residence. He was born Jan. 18, 1964, in Las Vegas, Nev. to William C. “Bill” Jr. and Frances Steel of Valdosta. He loved bowling and playing video games. He always said “He would never grow up.” He began his life long career with NAPA over 25 years ago.
Along with his parents, he was survived by his wife of 26 years, Joanna Steel of Valdosta; two stepsons, Greg Almarez, Ariz., Robert Sisto Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.; grandson, Donavon Almarez, Las Vegas, Nev.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Dianne and Stefan Ivanov, Las Vegas, Nev., Beth Meisticle, Buford, Ga., Pam DeMott, Honduras, Kim and Jerry Newman, Valdosta; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Chuck and Susan Steel, Valdosta, Jeff Steel, Fernandina Beach, Fla., Glenn and Carla Steel, Adel, Ga.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Edna and Michael Fried, Valdosta; nephew, Brian Gonzales; along with many other special nephews and nieces.
As per his wishes, he will be cremated and a celebration of David’s life will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at The Loft above City Market in Downtown Valdosta, 101 N. Patterson St., Valdosta, Ga. with a special time of sharing at 7 p.m.
