Buffi Beasley McCambridge

VALDOSTA — Buffi Beasley McCambridge, 46, of Hahira, Ga.,  died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born at the Moody Air Force Base Hospital on July 25, 1967 to MSgt. David Tullis Beasley, USMC and Sarah Elfleta Godwin Beasley. Buffi was a nursing instructor at Valdosta State University. She had a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, a Master of Science degree in Nursing and was pursuing her doctorate degree in Nursing. Buffi was a member of the Baptist faith, a lover of animals including her pets Snoopi, Penni, Charlotte, Trixi, DeeJay and Sheldon.

She is survived by her daughter, Hanna Scout McCambridge; son, Christian Finch McCambridge, both of Hahira; brothers and sister in law, Michael Beasley, Patrick and Brenda Beasley of Valdosta; nephews, Daryn Patrick Beasley, Tullis Dalton Beasley and Michael Beasley; niece, Angela Miller; former husband, Jim McCambridge; dear friend and caregiver Cara Tomlinson; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Buffi is predeceased by her parents.

Funeral services will be held today, July 3, 2014 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating. Entombment will be at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Buffi’s love of her profession was lifelong. Her years as a Professor brought many special students and colleagues into her life, and her life and times at Jeph’s and the old Wooden Nickel were never forgotten.
