Herman R. Piper Sr., passed away July 24, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Mullbury, Ohio to William and Thelma (St. John) Pieper. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Following military service, Herm was employed as a manager with Nickle’s Bakery, retiring in 1995.
Herman is survived by his wife of 28 years, Nancy; children, Joe (Grace), Herman Jr. “Chip” (Marilyn), Melody (Dick) Lucas, Scott Gage, and Kelly Barney; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; along with eight siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn, daughter, Cindy, and two brothers.
Friends may call Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, Ohio on Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 12-6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Military honors will be performed by the Lou Diamond Marine Corps League Detachment, Toledo, Ohio. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
