Edith Ann Deas Cummings, 65 of Quitman passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born in Colquitt County, Ga. she was the daughter of Bryant Columbus and Edith Tucker Deas. Mrs. Cummings had been a resident of Brooks County for 21 years, was a retired bank secretary and a member of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by three daughters, Marci (Clifford) Thompson of Quitman, Polly McGraw of Valdosta, Betty Jean Conley of Hahira; two sons, David Nellis of Brooks County, James Nellis of Moultrie; five grandchildren, Breezi Brackin, C.J. Thompson, Bay Conley, Jason Ashworth, Jacob Nellis; two great grandchildren; Olivia and Riela Brackin; three sisters, Jean Gay of Morven, Libby Gay of Valdosta, Peggy Lawrence of Valdosta; and one brother; Spud Deas of Berlin.
A memorial visitation will be held Monday, Jan. 20 from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home. Per her wishes Mrs. Cummings will be cremated. — Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home.
