God has called a little angel Home, Miss Khamiyah Zemone Newsome. Khamiyah was born on January 25, 2009 to Mark and Khadija Newsome. She was called Home on August 11, 2013 at the age of 4 years old.
Khamiyah was educated in the Valdosta School system. She attended preschool at Children’s Friend in Valdosta, Georgia. She was a member of First Rival Church under the leadership of Bishop H. H. Norman and Pastor Shirley Spencer. She was a gifted child, who touched lives everyday of her life.
Khamiyah was preceded in death by; great-great grandparents, Mildred Y. Williams, Willie Mae Kelley, Catherine Miller, Lucille Fulton and Carl Newsome. She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory; her parents, Mark and Khadija Newsome; one brother, Mark Newsome, Jr.; grandparents, Wesley (Min. Mary) Newsome, George Ponder, Katerina Ponder; great-grandparents, Debra (Greg) McCauley, James Kelley, Laverne (Joe) Smallwood, Arthur (Barbara) Ponder; great-great grandparents, Rhodie Ponder. Aunts and 15 uncles and a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends; special godparents, Kristen and Derek and Katrina Grisson; special thanks to Shawn Hopkins. Khamiyah will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Union Cathedral Church in Valdosta, Ga., with Pastor Wade McCrae officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery. — Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home in Quitman.
