Mary Glennette Maine, 46, of Lake Park passed away at South Georgia Medical Center on April 15, 2014 after a long battle with an illness. She was born in Hahira, Ga., on Aug. 11, 1967 to Harry Gene Maine and Glennette Ellen Simpson. Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother with a big heart. She previously worked for the Lowndes County Board of Commissioners.
Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Wheeler of Lake Park; son, Chad Ellis; daughter, Heather Johnson; daughter-in-law Shauna Ellis; son-in-law, Kristopher Johnson; seven grandchildren, Hailey Johnson of Dover, Tenn., Dalton Ellis, Hunter Ellis, Jacob Ellis, Chad Ellis Jr., Jaidyn Ellis, and Tristan Tyre, all of Valdosta; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Harry Gene Jr. and Debbie Maine, and David Maine of Valdosta; two sisters, Beverly Radney, and Linda Maine of Valdosta; father, Harry Gene Maine Sr.; mother, Glennette Ellen Simpson of Valdosta.
Graveside services for Mary Maine will be held in Carter Cemetery in Echols County on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Milton Sellars will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Chapel in Lake Park.
