Dorothy Rowan Drake, 89, of Nashville died Sunday April 21, 2013 at her residence.
She was born May 7, 1923 in Berrien County to the late John Cornelius Rowan and the late Lena Belle Outlaw. She was a homemaker, volunteer for the Berrien Nursing Center and a member of the Nashville First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Robert G. Drake who died in 1988 and was also preceded in death by a brother: Donald Rowan; sister, Frances Griffin and a son-in-law, Johnny Dismuke. .
She is survived by two daughters: Gail Dismuke of Statesboro and Diana (Chuck) Moore of Nashville; son: John Robert Drake of Key West, Fla.; two sisters: Helen Rhodes of Tucker and Patricia Ford of Spartanburg, S.C.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 24, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Luke and the Rev. Billy Southerland officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Bridge Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.
