Elsie Louise Shaw, 94, of Tampa, Fla. and formerly of Valdosta died on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Sun Coast Hospice House in Palm Harbor, Fla. She was born on Jan. 1, 1919 in Phenix City, Ala. to the late Irby and Alice Trimble Moore. She moved to Valdosta from Columbus, Ga. in 1973 and was a Valdosta resident until declining health necessitated her moving to be nearer family in Tampa. Mrs. Shaw retired from South Georgia Medical Center in 1985 as the Patient Information Supervisor and was a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Jean Corsi of Tampa, Fla., Betty Rogers of Benson, N.C. and Billye and Keith Green of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a nephew and his wife, Mike and Judy Moore of Opilaka, Ala. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Shaw and a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Carolyn Moore.
A graveside service for Elsie Louise Shaw in scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jim Schappaugh officiating. The burial will follow the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
