Marshall Gleghorn

VALDOSTA — Mr. Marshall Gleghorn, 63, of Valdosta, departed this earthly walk of life on Monday, May 12, 2014 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on July 4, 1950 in Chicago Heights to the late Mr. Theodore and Mrs. Helen Gleghorn.

He attended Sparata High School.  He worked at Ole Times Country Buffet, Gold Plate.  He retired from Ole Times Country Buffet after 20 years. He enjoyed fishing.  He touched so many lives and hearts.  He was a man of integrity and was loved by many.

He was preceded in death by his wife:  Mrs. Elizabeth J. Patrick Gleghorn; his parents; one brother; one sister; one aunt.

He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Shirley Hutchinson, Melissa Gleghorn and Jill Gleghorn all of Valdosta; three grandchildren, Nicole Patrick of Warner Robins, Ga., Destiny Perry and Jamie Perry both of Valdosta; four great grandchildren, Sniyha Perry, Kamora Perry, Javon Miller, Jr., all of Valdosta, and Yasna Hargett of Warner Robins, Ga.; one devoted sister,  Ann Perkins of Bloomington, Ill.; three brothers-in-law, Henderson Patrick, Willie T. Patrick (Patricia) and Johnny B. Patrick, all of Valdosta; two sisters-in-law: Velma Minute of Peoria, Ill., and Ruth Pickett of Ashburn, Ga.; two god children,  Mary Wilson Thomas and Renee Wiseman, both of Valdosta; his back porch friends,  Quinton Rose, Douglas Griffin, Romeo and Man; Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A special thanks to United Hospice and Dr. Brittany Crenshaw of Quitman, Ga.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 1 p.m.  at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.  The Rev. Brantley McCollough, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens.  Public viewing will be held on today from 2– 8 p.m.  at the funeral home. — Stevens Funeral Home of Valdosta
