-- — Funeral services for James Carl Minter Jr., 68, of Cairo, Ga, will be at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, September 16, 2013, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, Ga.  Dr. Ron McCaskill and Rev. Jacqueline Smith will officiate.  Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, Ga.

Mr. Minter passed away on Friday, September 13, 2013, at his home. Mr. Minter was born on January 3, 1945, in Cairo, Ga, to the late James Carl Minter, Sr., and Miriam Garrison Minter.  He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was owner and operator of Buddy’s Maintenance, and was a member of Cairo First Baptist Church. Survivors include: daughter, Catherine Wills (Chris) of Valdosta, Ga; son, James Carl Minter, III of Lexington, Ky.; grandchild, Jillian Wills of Valdosta, Ga; sister, Sarah M. Timmerman (Ed) of Cairo, Ga; brother, John G. Minter of Thomasville, Ga; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Cindy Allday of Cairo, Ga. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Minter’s memory to The Summit Baptist Church, P. O. Box 120, Cairo, Ga, 39828.
