Edward Isaac Taylor, age 88, of Jennings, Fla. passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 21, 2013 at his home. Mr. Taylor was born on Oct. 31, 1924 in O’Brien, Fla. He was the owner and operator of Taylor Diesel Services in Jacksonville until he retired and moved to Jennings in 1984. Mr. Taylor was a World War II Veteran of the United States Marines. He was preceded by his first wife and the mother of his children, Mary Alice Benton Taylor, a grandson, Joseph O. Miller, III, numerous brothers and sisters and a step son, Dexter Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Taylor, Jennings, Fla.; two sons, Edward I. Taylor, Jr. and his wife Debby and Courtney Hohmann and his wife Cynthia, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Colleen Miller and her husband Joe of Jacksonville, Fla.; a step son, Robert Johnson and his wife Carol of Gray Court, S.C.; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013 at Burnham Christian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday beginning at 1 p.m.
