Services for Phillip Duane Lee, age 49 of Hahira, Ga., formerly of Dublin, Ga., will be held 2 p.m. today, Jan. 10, 2014, at Olivet Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Rentz Cemetery. The Rev. Grady Mimbs and the Rev. Bruce Mayhew will officiate.
Mr. Lee was a native of Laurens County. And was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. He was the son of the late William Shirley Lee and the late Catherine Batt Lee. Phillip was a Graduate of West Laurens High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in History Education from Georgia College and State University. He taught school at Dublin High School, West Laurens High and was Director of Continuing Education at the Heart of Georgia Technical College and Middle Georgia College. Mr. Lee died Wednesday, January 8, 2014.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Williams Lee; son, Jordan William Lee; daughter, Taylor Katherine Lee all of Hahira; brothers, William Terrance Avant of Dublin, Garry Batt of Arley, England; sister, Pam Avant Mimbs of Cadwell; and several nieces and nephews.
Paul Knight, Steve Knight, Scott Avant, Tony Mimbs, Author Bradford and B. J. Davis will serve as pallbearers.
The family received friends at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home Thursday from 6-8 p.m. There will be a visitation at the Lee family home in Hahira, Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 from 6-8 p.m.
