Mr. James B. “Jim” Reeves, 76, of Adel, Ga., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Ga. He was born on Dec. 7, 1937 in St. Petersburg, Fla., but was a resident of Cook County for the past 40 years and was retired from air conditioning sales with J. Reeves and Company, where he served as owner and operator. He was also a member of Adel First Assembly of God, a Master Mason and a Shriner. He also served his country honorably in the United States Navy.
Mr. Reeves is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law: Jimmy and Sharon Reeves of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Joe and Di Reeves of Hahira, Ga.; two grandsons: Josh and Jake Reeves, both of Hahira, Ga.; a sister, Ruth Riflederfer of Clearwater, Fla.; and special friends, Susan and David Griffin of Adel, Ga. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice Faye Cato Reeves.
The Reeves family will receive friends this evening, Jan. 10, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel, Ga. Funeral service will take place Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Adel First Assembly of God, 601 Massee Post Road, in Adel, with the Rev. Chris Newbern and the Rev. Eric Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Annex. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Faye Reeves Memorial Scholarship, c/o Cook County Educational Foundation, 1109 N.
