James ‘Junior’ Franklin Tyson
James “Junior” Franklin Tyson, 78 of Adel passed away Monday, July 16, 2007, at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Mr. Tyson was born Aug. 7, 1928, to the late Elzie and Kansas Rentz Tyson and was self-employed as a ceramic tile contractor.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Rickey Stalvey of Adel; one brother, Clifford “Leroy” Tyson of Cummings, Ga.; two sisters, Thelma Stripling of Sparks and Loraine Comeux of Cummings, Ga.; five grandchildren, Gina LeGette of Adel, Chandra Gay of Morven, Stephanie Bullard of Adel, Jessica Lawrence of Adel, and Beau Stalvey of Adel; eight great-grandchildren, Sage Harris, Mandi Gay, Brandon Gay, Dillon Gay, Jaclyn Bullard, Jill Bullard, Madelyn Lawrence and Kate Lawrence; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Lawson Tyson, and two daughters, Linda Bennett and Glenda LeGette.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at 4 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home. — Purvis Funeral Home, Adel.
Amy Danielle Cason
Amy Danielle Cason, 18, of Dixie, Ga., passed away Sunday, July 15, 2007, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Bibb County, Ga., she was the daughter of Stephen Todd Sr. and Nancy Glynn Lucas Cason. She was a student and a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Greenville, Fla.
She is survived by her parents, Steve and Nancy Cason of Dixie; two brothers, Stephen Todd (Heather) Cason, Jr. of Dixie, Andrew Bryan (Brittany) Cason of Glendale, Ariz.; maternal grandmother, Joyce Marie Lucas of Danville, Ga.; paternal grandparents, Mary Ann and Franklin Cason of Dixie; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2007, in the Maxwell-Miller Chapel with the Rev. Franklin Cason and the Rev. Steve Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery. Lewis Daniel Eunice Jr.
Lewis Daniel Eunice Jr., 64 of Lakeland, passed away Saturday July 14, 2007, at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 15, 1942 to the late Lewis and Arvell Eunice. He was self-employed as a mechanic for many years. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Eunice, Lakeland, Ga.; two daughters, Tammy Roberts, Nashville, Ga., Linda Hall, Willacoochee, Ga.; son, Robert Eunice, Chester, Ga.; sister, Sylvia Jones, Pamplin, Va.; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday July 18, 2007, in Fender Cemetery in Lakeland, Ga. The family will receive friends and family Wednesday July 18, 2007 at 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Margaret Faye Gaskins, 67, of Nashville, passed away Monday, July 16, 2007, at Berrien County Hospital.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1939, in Cook County to the late William Elmer and Fannie Mae Day Hayes. She was a homemaker and member of Massee Baptist Church and attended the Nashville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband George Max Gaskins of Nashville; two daughters, Debbie McMillan, Michelle Fountain, both of Nashville; one son, Chip Gaskins, Nashville; five grandchildren, Tyler McMillan, Tanner McMillan, Lollie McMillan, Max Lewis Fountain, Denise Fountain; three sisters, Myrtice MacGregor, Kissimmee, Fla., Donna Lyons, Warner Robins, Joan Hester, Adel; four brothers, Charles (Wilma) Hayes, Nashville, Edward Hayes, Donald Hayes, Johnny Hayes, all of Adel. She was preceded in death by a sister, Nell Sumner, and a brother, Carroll Hayes.
Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2007, in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Becky King officiating. Interment will be held in Westview Cemetery. Lloyd Curtis “Jack” Driver, 79, of Tifton passed away Sunday, July 15, 2007, at his residence.
He was born on Nov. 7, 1927, in Lafayette County, Fla. to the late Alex and Pearl Grant Driver. He was a retired farmer, former textile worker and was also employed with the Charlotte Memorial Hospital. He attended the Pineview Holiness Baptist Church was an Army veteran and the widower of Jeanette Cook Driver, who died in 2002.
He is survived by two daughters, Christine Thomas, Phenix City, Ala., Jacqueline (Gary) Edenfield, Tifton; four sons, Lloyd Curtis Driver Jr., Bedford, Va., Donnie Wayne Driver, Springhill, Fla., Lloyd Phillips, Thomasville, Edwin (Dona) Phillips, Fort Mill, S.C.; two daughters-in-law, Dianne Driver, Tifton, Linda Driver, Winston-Salem, N.C.; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Driver and James Driver. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of TiftArea.
