Joseph Pope (Buddy) Jamieson Jr.

Joseph Pope (Buddy) Jamieson, Jr., of Nashville, residing at Fellowship Home in Valdosta, died on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007. Mr. Jamieson was born in Washington, N.C. on Aug. 29, 1942, the son of the late Joseph P. (Sr.) and Mary Lou Adams Jamieson.

Mr. Jamieson is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer L. (Jenny) and Rodney E. Smith, Jr. and a granddaughter, Madison Tayler Smith, of Nashville, Ga. Preceding Mr. Jamieson’s death was his first granddaughter, Destiny Tayler Smith, born and died on Jan. 6, 1996.

Mr. Jamieson is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Larry B. and Faye Dyal Jamieson, of Duluth, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Richard and Eugenia (Jeannie) Hursey, of Lawrenceville, Ga., as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Jamieson was formerly married to Wenda Gaile Bailey of Nashville.

Joseph P. (Buddy) Jamieson was a 1960 graduate of Jeff Davis High School, where he was a Georgia State long-jump champion; he attended Massey Business College, Atlanta, and Valdosta State College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was production control manager for Patchogue Plymouth, Nashville Mills Division in the 1970s and 1980s, having transferred from that company’s Hazlehurst facility. Mr. Jamieson was an amateur radio operator, having been a member of the ARRL since his teen years and was an avid golfer. He was a former president of the Berrien County Jaycees.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at the chapel at Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville, with the Rev. Phillip Simmons, presiding, and with interment following in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. this evening at Lovein Funeral Home. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.


Thelma Curry

Mrs. Thelma Curry, 85, of Quitman passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced later by Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home of Quitman.
