Andrew Wade (Andy) Weldon Sr.
Andrew Wade (Andy) Weldon Sr., 45, of Hahira, died Saturday, January 27, 2007, at his residence. He was born in Valdosta on November 4, 1961, worked at Packaging Corporation of America and was a member of Forrest Street Church of God.
He is survived by his children, Andrew Wade (Drew) Weldon Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Wesley Paul Weldon of Valdosta, Mary Katherine (Sissy) Weldon of Athens; parents, A. W. (Dub) and Margaret (Margie) Weldon of Hahira; one sister, Debra Brooks of Valdosta; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Donna Weldon of Valdosta and Karen Weldon of Echols County; one nephew, several nieces, cousins and other relatives. Andy was predeceased by his brother, Stephen Wesley Weldon.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Forrest Street Church of God with the Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating. He will lie in state in the church for one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p. m. Monday at the funeral home. Josephine Eddings Carruthers
Josephine Eddings Carruthers, 77, of R.L. Sears Road, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, at Smith Northview Hospital in Valdosta.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with burial at Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. The Rev. James Hancock, the Rev. Preston Norman and the Rev. Merrill Coram will officiate. Casketbearers will be Wiley Lane, Kip Carruthers, Blake Carruthers, Chad Carruthers, Dustin Carruthers and Robert Thomas Jr.
Mrs. Carruthers was born May 3, 1929, in Thomas County, daughter of the Mae Belle Murphy Eddings and the late Charlie Eddings. She was a retired seamstress at Warners Manufacturing and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Fundamental Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Carruthers.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Lynwood Carruthers and wife Bonnie of Moultrie and George Lyman Carruthers Jr. and wiffe Gayle of Norman Park; two sisters, Mae Bryant of Barwick and Dorothy Rayburn of Edison; six grandchildren, Craig Carruthers, Kip Carruthers, Chad Carruthers, Blake Carruthers, Dustin Carruthers and Tabetha Nester; and four great-grandchildren.

Michael Bernard Roe
Mr. Michael Bernard Roe, age 49, passed this life Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born April 22, 1957, in Lowndes County to the late Mrs. Ella Gilmore Roe and Mr. Adam Roe Sr. He attended Valdosta City public schools. He was also employed at Valdosta State University. He was a member of the Pleasant Temple Baptist Church.
He leaves to treasure his memory lament his passing, his treasured children, Dixie Bernard Roe (Antonette), Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Renata Eurdice Lawrence (Michale), Richmond, Va., Rafeal Perez Williams (Tammara), Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; his father, Adam Roe Sr., Valdosta; six precious grandchildren, Paris, Shane, Melvin, Mikaya, Maurice and Tamia; nine loving brothers and sisters, Adam Roe Jr. (Helen), Pearl Vickers, Johnny L. Roe (Mary Frances), Helen Bell (Joseph), Linda Roe, Dale Roe, Carl Roe (Pamela), Irvin Roe (Wanda), Ronald Lynn Roe (Bridgett), all of Valdosta; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Donny E. Pittman
Donny E. Pittman, 56, of Valdosta, died at his home on Saturday, January 27, 2007, after a brief illness.
Born in Brooks County, on December 10, 1950, he was the son of the late Guy C. and Edith Jackson Pittman. Mr. Pittman had served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired IBEW electrician. He was a member of Azalea City Church of God and the Freedom Riders Motorcycle Club.
Survivors are his wife, Sue, of Valdosta; three daughters and a son-in-law, Angela Strawder of Valdosta, Donna Carter of Valdosta, Tina and Chad Pittman of Valdosta; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Rodney and Melody Phelps of Valdosta, Robby and Lynn Exum of Valdosta, Rusty Brabham of Valdosta; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Rose Pittman of Madison, Fla., Jimmy and Orbie Pittman of Valdosta; a sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Guy Waggie of Warner Robins; several nieces, nephews and other relatives, and his faithful canine companion, Sport.
Funeral services will be held at Azalea City Church of God on Tuesday, January 30, 2007, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Raymond Gabbard will officiate. Burial will be at Lake Park Cemetery. Mr. Pittman will lie in state at the church for one hour before service time.
