Norman ‘Dan’ Daniels
Mr. Norman “Dan” Daniels, 70, of Powder Springs, died Thursday, March, 30, 2006.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April, 3, 2006, at Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Cabaniss officiating.
Mr. Daniels retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years, serving in Korea and the Vietnam war. He was a Naval R.O.T.C. Instructor for 20 years at the Westside High School in Augusta. He was member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, a member of the Lions Club in Augusta and a member of the Masonic Battle Hill Lodge No. 523 in Lithia Springs. He attended Bethany United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Daniels of Powder Springs; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gary and Kim Daniels of Flower Mound, Texas, Todd Daniels of Denton, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie Daniels and David Human of Marietta; brother, Wayne Daniels of Valdosta; grandchildren, Katie Daniels, Matthew Daniels, Spencer Human and Garrett Human.
In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 17 Executive Park, Suite 115, Atlanta, Ga., 30329-2012 or the Portsbridge Hospice, 5990 Love Street, Austell, Ga., 30106.

Jerry Ashley Watson
Jerry Ashley Watson, 64, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, March 30, 2006, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born on March 31, 1941 in Hahira, he was the son of the late Paul Grover and Bessie Lucille Ashley Watson.
He was a graduate of Berry College in Rome and served in the Georgia Army National Guard for 12 years. He retired from Georgia Power after 37 years of employment. He was a technical training specialist for seven years with Georgia Transmission Corporation in Smarr. He was a former member of the evening Lions Club. Mr. Watson helped establish Eastern Heights Baptist Church and was a member of Southland Church for six years. He became the first deacon of Seasons Church, where he had been a member for the past three years.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Douglas, his peek-a-poo and special pet, was a good friend to him. He enjoyed building porches onto his home and watching the birds and squirrels from them.
Survivors are his wife, Bobbi Watson; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Kenny Hughes, Sherry and Roger McCranie; son, Melton Watson all of Valdosta; his children by marriage, daughters and sons-in-law, Kelley and Gary Fisher of Valdosta, Bonnie and Bruce Damm of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren and their spouses, Dewayne Hughes, Bryan Hughes, Stephanie and Jose` Perez, Melanie and Josh King, Jessica McDonald, Sarah Watson, Michael Watson, Robert Damm, Ryan Damm, Savannah Read, Tristan Read, Emily Fisher; great-grandchildren, Austin Hughes, Claytin Hughes, Braetin Hughes, Katie Perez, Deanna Perez, Hayden King, Ashton King, Julion McDonald; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joy and Keith Wiggins of Colorado; Allen and Ginny Catoe of Valdosta, David and Mitsi Catoe of Glen St. Mary, Fla.,; parents-in-law, Robert and Joyce Catoe of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew and his wife, Jimmy and Shell Watson of Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Melton (Bud) Watson, a grandson, Colby Read, and his first wife, Agnes Ann Watson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Seasons Church (corner of Park Ave. and Forrest Street) with Pastor Lee Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Dana Wilkinson, 40, of Valdosta, died at South Georgia Medical Center on Thursday, March 30, 2006, after a short illness.
Born in Valdosta on Nov. 19, 1965, she was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Amber Brooke and Justin Lodge of Quitman; grandchildren, Thomas, Hannah and Lauralyn Lodge of Quitman; her mother and stepfather, Joan P. and Richard Jones of Panama City Beach, Fla.; her father and stepmother, Fred and Vickie Wilkinson of Valdosta; sister and brother-in-law, Sala and Bill Love of Valdosta; brother and sister-in-law, Thom and Dana Wilkinson of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held today, April 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. in Sunset Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Mac Weaver officiating.
