VALDOSTA -- Two men driving log trucks were injured in an accident Wednesday afternoon.
Joseph Wayne Jenkins, 29, of Blackshear was driving a red log truck east on Highway 94 at about 3:49 p.m.
Jenkins failed to yield the right of way and hit the trailer of a gold log truck driving south on Inner Perimeter Road, said Georgia State Patrol Trooper 1st Class Joshua Brogdon.
The other driver, L.C. Cook, 65, Nashville, was transported to South Georgia Medical Center for injuries sustained in the accident, Brogdon said.
Jenkins, who sustained minor injuries, was released at the scene at his own request.
Brogdon said Wednesday evening that Jenkins is being charged with failure to yield the right of way.
A Lowndes County Sheriff's Office deputy had to direct traffic at the intersection of Highway 94 and Inner Perimeter Road while the injured drives received medical attention and the accident was cleared.
