Obituaries for Friday, Sept. 28, 2007

Clifford H. Dasher, 72, of Lake Park died at his home on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007. He was born on June 11, 1935, in Lowndes County to the late Leland Henry and Audrey Hughes Dasher. He was a Navy veteran and also the owner and operator of Dasher Concrete Services. Mr. Dasher was also a charter member and trustee of Francis Lake Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Crews Dasher; three sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Denise Dasher, Levis and Carol Dasher, Tony and Tiffinee Dasher; five grandchildren, Austin Dasher, Tyler Dasher, Katie Dasher, Dalton Dasher, Johnathon Dasher, all of Lake Park. Mr. Dasher was preceded in death by his brothers, James Dasher and Robert Dasher.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Francis Lake Baptist Church in Lake Park with the Rev. Eldridge Lyons officiating. Mr. Dasher will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. STAFFORD, VA.

Carol Marie Sapp

Carol Marie Sapp, 65 of Stafford, Va., passed away Sept. 24, 2007.

She was born May 16, 1942, in Baltimore, Md. to the late Charles and Laura Seymore Spurlock. Mrs. Sapp was employed as the vice president and co-founder of Heritage House of Virginia, Inc., serving the needs of adults with mental retardation in the Stafford area. She was active in supplying food and shelter for the homeless.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Jason W. Sapp; daughters, Joanne Lee and her husband Danny, Vicki Sapp, Suzanne France and her husband Tom, Jennifer White and husband David; sons, Jason Sapp and wife Vanessa, John Sapp and wife Karen, Daniel Sapp and wife Renee; sister, Betty Meskill; brother, Paul Spurlock; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sapp was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Laura Spurlock; sister, Iva Jean Adema; and brothers, Ray Spurlock, Marvin Spurlock, and Richard Spurlock.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at 4 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home one hour prior to graveside service at 5 p.m. in Woodlawn City Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Saunders officiating. — Purvis Funeral Home, Adel.
