Truitt Brown
Truitt Brown, 84, of 2105 Ga. Hwy. 326, Commerce, Ga. passed away Sept. 20, 2007 at his residence.
He was born June 12, 1923 in Banks County, Ga. to the late Claude and Nina Lord Brown. He was a retired postal worker and farmer; U.S. Army Veteran of W.W.II; member of Hudson Lodge 294 F&AM and member of First Baptist Church of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife, Nann McCoy Brown of Commerce; two sons, Dennis Brown, Neal Brown, both of Commerce; daughterand son-in-law, Beth and Rev. Wayne Robertson, Valdosta; seven grandchildren including Miranda and Christi Robertson of Valdosta; four great-grandchildren; and brother, Harold Brown of Commerce.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Commerce with the Rev. Bob Skelton, the Rev. Wayne Robertson, Dr. Carlton Allen officiating. Interment will be held in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce, Ga. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. this evening at Little-Ward Funeral Home. VALDOSTA
William L. (Bill) Moran, III
William L. (Bill) Moran, III, 53, of Valdosta, died on Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at Holly Hill Nursing Home. Born in Quitman on April 14, 1954, he was the son of Frances Paulette Taylor Simpson and the late William Lorenzo Moran, Jr. Mr. Moran was a Commercial Painter.
Survivors are a daughter, Kyleigh Moran of Naples, Fla.; sons, Bill Moran IV, Eric Moran and Brian Pasco all of Naples, Fla. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Brittany Moran and a grandson, Nolan Harris. Other survivors are his grandchildren, Sierra Fowler, Moria Lestrada, Raymond Moncion; the mother of his children, Paulette Moran of Naples, Fla.; his mother, Frances Simpson of Barney; sisters, Lynn and Bobby Sapp of Hahira, Paula Barnes of Valdosta, Jan Simpson of Barney; step sisters, Patricia Adkins of Valdosta, Helen and Fleming Williams of Barney Doris and Marvin Hudsbeth of Tampa, Fla., Glenda Martin of Lake Park; and a step brother, Woodrow and Kathy Simpson of Barney. The family of Mr. Moran would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of United Hospice for all they did to care for Mr. Moran.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. at Campground Cemetery. Dr. Charles McDowell of Barney United Methodist Church will officiate.
