Mary Dorris Moore
Mary Dorris Moore, 94, of Valdosta died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Valdosta on June 14, 1913 to the late James Quillian and Lily Viola Thigpen Dorris. Mrs. Moore was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and participated in the Friendship Sunday School Class and was a member of the Merry Makers.
Her survivors include her three nieces, Edna Johnson and Art Gaines of Luka, Miss., Valerie Dorris and Raymond Johnson of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Emily Dorris Harned of Fort Pierce, Fla.; one nephew, James Dirk and Judy Dorris of Thomasville; numerous great-nieces and nephews; numerous great-great-nieces and nephews and an adopted daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Ben Belue of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Moore, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007 in Sunset Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas Mason, Jr. officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time for the service. Donations may be made to First United Methodist Church. Michael F. “Mike” Watson
Mr. Michael F. "Mike" Watson, 45, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Born April 29, 1962 in Bartow, Fla., he moved to Valdosta from Ft. Meade, Fla. in 2007. He was an autobody repairman for Langdale Ford, Valdosta. He is of the Baptist faith.
Mike is survived by his sons, Michael Watson, Bartow, Fla. and Caleb Watson, Valdosta; father and step mother, Elton and Pat Watson, Fort Meade, Fla.; mother, Nita Morganstern, Sarasota, Fla.; brother, Doug Watson, Fort Meade, Fla.; half brother, Lee Morganstern, Arcadia, Fla.; sister, Angie Watson, Fort Meade, Fla.; grandmothers, Doris Watson and Dorothy Jenkins, both of Fort Meade, Fla.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Sept.. 22, 2007 at Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade, FL, funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. — Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade, Fla.
