Thelma Clanton

Thelma Clanton, 89 of Nashville passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Berrien County Hospital.

She was born June 21, 1918, in Berrien County to the late Bob and Sally Mae Hall McNabb. She was a homemaker and attended Nashville Mission Church. She was the widow of Clarence Clanton, and preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Giddens and Velma Grimes, and three brothers, Homer, June, and Robert McNabb.

She is survived by two daughters, Melba (Gene) Baldree of Nashville, Mabel (Dan) Byrd of Juliette; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Heywood McNabb of Nashville.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Dukes III officiating. Interment will be held in Long Bridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday morning from 10 a.m. until hour of services. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.

Quitman

Jeanette Taylor Marchman

Jeanette Taylor Marchman, 74, of Quitman, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2007, at her residence following a brief illness.

Born in Brooks County, Ga., she was the daughter of Donald Montee and Nonie Renfroe Taylor. She was a retired secretary with the Georgia State Probation Office and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Quitman, where she was one of the oldest surviving members and dedicated to the youth in our community.

She is survived by a daughter Donna Raye Batts of Quitman; five grandchildren, Treena (Kennon) Miles, Amos (Jackie) C. Batts, Teesa Marchman, Paul (Keystalyn) Batts, and Reeda Cloud Batts; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy (Carol) Taylor of Quitman. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Randall (Randy) Marchman, a brother, Donald Taylor, and husband Curley Marchman.

Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday Sept. 9, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church in Quitman with the Rev. Dan Nail officiating. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.maxwellmillerfuneralhome.com — Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home, Quitman.
