Julie Wetherington Bush
Julie Wetherington Bush, 50, of Delta, Colo. died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007 at the Delta County Memorial Hospital.
She was born on July 29, 1957 in Adel, Ga., and spent her early childhood in Adel before moving to Valdosta. Julie joined the Northside Baptist Church in the 1960s, where she still held her membership. She was a 1975 graduate of Valdosta High School and was a member of the Valdosta High School Marching Cats Flag Corps. She later moved to Colorado and married Chuck Bush and worked for Mt. Park Veterinarian Hospital in Evergreen, Colo., as a veterinarian assistant. In 2001 she moved to Delta. Julie dearly loved animals and was a ray of sunshine to those who knew her.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Mary and Paul Swindell of Valdosta; her father, Steve Wetherington of Ohio; daughter, Rhiannon Bush Goularte and her husband of Salt Lake City, Utah; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Allison Wetherington and their children, Zach and Grace of Charleston, S.C.; a special aunt, Melba Alderman of Valdosta; a stepsister; a stepbrother; numerous cousins; uncle and aunt. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lossie and Estelle Boyette of Adel, paternal grandparents, Barney Wetherington and Grace Devineau, cousins, Mike Boyette, Kaye A. Thompson, Carla A. Delcamp and Aunt Sandy.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, at the Hotchkiss Church of God in Delta, Colo., with the Rev. Harold Franklin officiating. Dewey Harley Thompson
Dewey Harley Thompson, 70, of Lake Park, died at his residence on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007.
Formerly of Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. Thompson had resided in Lake Park since 2002. He was born on Dec. 17, 1936, in Crab Orchard, Tenn., to the late Elmer Harley and Myrtle Chaffin Thompson. He attended Lake Park Church of God where he was an avid church worker involved in many activities, including being a member of “Men of Action” and building mission churches, playing the steel guitar and working as the church clerk. Mr. Thompson traveled to different parts of the world to assist in promoting the ministry and was inducted into the Lay Person’s Hall of Fame in the Church of God in Indianapolis, Ind. He was a retired insurance salesman.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jenith Thompson of Lake Park; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Dale Mills of Jacksonville, Fla., Linda and Leal Blondhiem of Middleburg, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Sandra Thompson of Crossville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Mills, Gregory Pittman and his wife, Jennifer Pittman, Matthew Carrino, Jonathan Allen, Christopher Blondheim, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; Alisa Tollett and her husband Kenneth Tollett, Timothy Joseph Thompson, all of Crossville, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren, Makayla Tollett and Tyler Thompson of Crossville, Tenn. and Morgan Pittman of Jacksonville, Fla. Mr. Thompson is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda Thompson, Eileen Holland, Cheryl and Tom Dixon all of Jacksonville, Fla., Mary and Roy Anderson of Lake Park; brothers and sisters-in-law, Andrew Thompson of Lake Park, Lonnie and Marie Thompson of Blackshear, Redgie and Ann Thompson of Crossville, Tenn., Steven, Sr. and Lesley Thompson of Jacksonville, Fla. and Leroy Thompson of Lake Park; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at Lake Park Church of God with the Rev. Keith Sandlin and Joe Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, Fla. at 3 p.m. Family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. Thelma Clanton
Thelma Clanton, 89 of Nashville passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Berrien County Hospital.
She was born June 21, 1918, in Berrien County to the late Bob and Sally Mae Hall McNabb. She was a homemaker and attended Nashville Mission Church. She was the widow of Clarence Clanton, and preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Giddens and Velma Grimes, and three brothers, Homer, June, and Robert McNabb.
She is survived by two daughters, Melba (Gene) Baldree of Nashville, Mabel (Dan) Byrd of Juliette; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Heywood McNabb of Nashville.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. J.W. Dukes III officiating. Interment will be held in Long Bridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday morning from 10 a.m. until hour of services. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.

Jeanette Taylor Marchman
Jeanette Taylor Marchman, 74, of Quitman, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2007, at her residence following a brief illness.
Born in Brooks County, Ga., she was the daughter of Donald Montee and Nonie Renfroe Taylor. She was a retired secretary with the Georgia State Probation Office and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Quitman, where she was one of the oldest surviving members and dedicated to the youth in our community.
She is survived by a daughter Donna Raye Batts of Quitman; five grandchildren, Treena (Kennon) Miles, Amos (Jackie) C. Batts, Teesa Marchman, Paul (Keystalyn) Batts, and Reeda Cloud Batts; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy (Carol) Taylor of Quitman. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Randall (Randy) Marchman, a brother, Donald Taylor, and husband Curley Marchman.

Grady E. (Pa Pa) Sudderth
Grady E. (Pa Pa) Sudderth, 64, of Lake Park, died on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at his home.
Formerly of Atlanta, he was born in Buford, Ga., on April 22, 1943, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sudderth and had made his home in Lake Park since 1996. He was a truck driver for Rountree Construction and had also worked for Badcock of Lake Park. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Hanson, Fla. Mr. Sudderth was a wonderful husband and best friend to his wife of 31 years and a wonderful father and grandfather. Affectionately known as (Pa Pa) he is gone from our lives but not from our hearts.
Survivors are his wife, Josephine Sudderth of Lake Park; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Chris Williams of Lake Park; stepson, Alfred Hendrix of Hahira; step daughters and step son-in-law, Myra and John Moore of Hahira; step daughter, Dana Snyder of Valdosta; son, Joseph Sanford Sudderth of Sacramento, Calif.; daughter, Sherry Sue Sudderth of Atlanta; grandchildren, Joseph and Jennifer Pettus of Lake Park, Courtnee Pettus, (Pa Pa’s Angel) of Lake Park, Candice and Tiffany Hennessey of Brunswick and Valdosta, Marcus Ransom, Samantha Scott of Valdosta; and five other grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Grace Turner, Gloria Smith, Linda Sue Baker of Dawsonville; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous other close friends and family.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The Rev. Murrell Bennett will officiate.
