Julie Wetherington Bush
Julie Wetherington Bush, 50, of Delta, Colo. died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007 at the Delta County Memorial Hospital.
She was born on July 29, 1957 in Adel, Ga., and spent her early childhood in Adel before moving to Valdosta. Julie joined the Northside Baptist Church in the 1960s, where she still held her membership. She was a 1975 graduate of Valdosta High School and was a member of the Valdosta High School Marching Cats Flag Corps. She later moved to Colorado and married Chuck Bush and worked for Mt. Park Veterinarian Hospital in Evergreen, Colo., as a veterinarian assistant. In 2001 she moved to Delta. Julie dearly loved animals and was a ray of sunshine to those who knew her.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Mary and Paul Swindell of Valdosta; her father, Steve Wetherington of Ohio; daughter, Rhiannon Bush Goularte and her husband of Salt Lake City, Utah; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Allison Wetherington and their children, Zach and Grace of Charleston, S.C.; a special aunt, Melba Alderman of Valdosta; a stepsister; a stepbrother; numerous cousins; uncle and aunt. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lossie and Estelle Boyette of Adel, paternal grandparents, Barney Wetherington and Grace Devineau, cousins, Mike Boyette, Kaye A. Thompson, Carla A. Delcamp and Aunt Sandy.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007, at the Hotchkiss Church of God in Delta, Colo., with the Rev. Harold Franklin officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado or any organization of your choice. Dewey Harley Thompson
Dewey Harley Thompson, 70, of Lake Park, died at his residence on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007.
Formerly of Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. Thompson had resided in Lake Park since 2002. He was born on Dec. 17, 1936, in Crab Orchard, Tenn., to the late Elmer Harley and Myrtle Chaffin Thompson. He attended Lake Park Church of God where he was an avid church worker involved in many activities, including being a member of “Men of Action” and building mission churches, playing the steel guitar and working as the church clerk. Mr. Thompson traveled to different parts of the world to assist in promoting the ministry and was inducted into the Lay Person’s Hall of Fame in the Church of God in Indianapolis, Ind. He was a retired insurance salesman.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jenith Thompson of Lake Park; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Dale Mills of Jacksonville, Fla., Linda and Leal Blondhiem of Middleburg, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Sandra Thompson of Crossville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Mills, Gregory Pittman and his wife, Jennifer Pittman, Matthew Carrino, Jonathan Allen, Christopher Blondheim, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; Alisa Tollett and her husband Kenneth Tollett, Timothy Joseph Thompson, all of Crossville, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren, Makayla Tollett and Tyler Thompson of Crossville, Tenn. and Morgan Pittman of Jacksonville, Fla. Mr. Thompson is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda Thompson, Eileen Holland, Cheryl and Tom Dixon all of Jacksonville, Fla., Mary and Roy Anderson of Lake Park; brothers and sisters-in-law, Andrew Thompson of Lake Park, Lonnie and Marie Thompson of Blackshear, Redgie and Ann Thompson of Crossville, Tenn., Steven, Sr. and Lesley Thompson of Jacksonville, Fla. and Leroy Thompson of Lake Park; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at Lake Park Church of God with the Rev. Keith Sandlin and Joe Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, Fla. at 3 p.m. Family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park.
