Grady B. Teague
Mr. Grady B. Teague, 74, of Hope, Ark. and Royal, Ark. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 27, 2006 at St. Josephs Mercy Health Center, Hot Springs, Ark.
He was born on Jan. 31, 1932 in Dermott, Ark. to Webster W. and Leattie Douglas Teague. He was a retired poultry farmer. He was a Baptist and a retired Air Force veteran of 23 years having served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was also a Bronze Star recipient. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Stephen Grady Teague and his wife Debbie, who both died Oct. 11, 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jayne K. Teague of Hope, Ark. and Royal, Ark.; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Edith Teague, Breckenridge, Texas; six grandchildren, Toby Teague, Heath Teague, both of Breckenridge, Texas, James Teague and Ginger, Bloomington, Ind., Eric Teague, Sherri Johnson and Mark and Brenda Baker and Leland, all of Hope, Ark.; six great-grandchildren, Ana Teague and Hailey Teague, Breckenridge, Texas, Cody Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Anna Harris, and Doniel Baker, all of Hope, Ark; and one brother and sister-in-law, Webster Teague, Jr., and Beverly of Valdosta, Ga.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 30, 2006, in Holly Grove Cemetery, DeAnn, Ark., with the Rev. Larry Brown officiating. Burial to follow. The family received friends Wednesday, March, 29, 2006 at the funeral home. — Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope, Ark.

IRetha Connell, 74, of Nashville passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta.
She was born on June 23, 1932, in Berrien County to Reuben Futch and Pearlie Ann Griffin Noles. She was a homemaker; retired from ITT Industries in Adel and was a member of Alapaha Baptist Church. She was the widow of Robert Connell who died in 1993.
She is survived by three daughters, Lucy Bennett of Adel, Lucille Exum, Nashville, Carolyn Howell, Lenox; one son, Eston Connell, Nashville; seven grandchildren, Connie, Dana, Brian, Jeremy, David Lee, Dustin, Michael; one sister, Evie Lee Wells, Nashville; and two brothers, Henry Knowles and Allen Knowles, both of Nashville. She is preceded in death by two grandsons, Jason Connell and Eston Connell, Jr.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Alapaha Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Gibbs and the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Burial will be held in Flat Creek Cemetery. Elizabeth Harrell Greene
Elizabeth Harrell Greene, 91, died March 28, 2006, in Quitman, Ga., after a brief illness.
She was born Annie Elizabeth Harrell on June 22, 1914 to Joseph Edwin and Berlon Auvry Hodges Harrell. She was a homemaker and member of the Quitman United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and Jim Benton of Pensacola, Fla.; her son James “Buzz” Greene of Quitman; a special niece Lynn Shipes. Surviving also are three loving granddaughters, Becky (Wayne) Gottshall, Samantha and Kathy Greene, along with four beautiful great-granddaughters, Jenna, Traci, Joana, and Tori; and two handsome great-grandsons, J.R. and Gannon. She leaves behind four devoted sisters, Polly (Ira) Eubanks, Jose (Pete) Bentley, Mable Teeter, Merle Culpepper; and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 50 years, Jimmy Greene and her four brothers, Hammond, Jack, Sam, and Redding Harrell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006, at the Quitman United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jay Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Allen Everett Gray
Allen Everett Gray, 80, of Lake Park, died on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Lakehaven Nursing Home after a period of declining health. Born on Sept. 3, 1925, in Boston, Ga., he was the son of the late Silas Allen and Pearl Murkerson Gray and the widower of Willie Mae Ritter Gray. Mr. Gray retired Packaging Corporation of America in Clyattville. In his earlier years, he enjoyed fishing and farming. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.
Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dariel Tomlinson of Lake Park; sons and daughters-in-law, Allen Gray of Valdosta, Robert and Susan Gray, Terry and Dianne Gray all of Lake Park; stepson and his wife, DeVane and Mary Lou Ritter of Lake Park; and grandchildren Sara (Mike) Powers, Denise Gray, Rachel Gray, Darrin (Barbara) Tomlinson, Bill (Kim) Tomlinson, Kay (Allen) Marcatos, Aaron Gray, Tracy Hires, Shelley Gray, Austin Gray, Lisa (Woody) Speirs, Dee Ritter and great grandchildren, Bailey, Lacy, Evan, Carson, Carter, Caroline, Michael and Dylan.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2006, at Sardis Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Carter Cemetery. Louise P. Schneider
Louise P. Schneider, 89, of Valdosta, died on Monday, March 27, 2006, at the Brooks County Hospital in Quitman after a lengthy illness. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., on July 19, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Earl Howarth and Anna Justina Dienst Partington.
Lou was baptized and confirmed as an Episcopalian. She attended the Susan Blow Kindergarten at 91 Madison Avenue, New York City. At the age of 16, she graduated from high school and went to work in New York City for American Telephone and Telegraph Company. Lou met her future husband, Arthur Paul Schneider, at Indian Lake, near Denville, N.J. Her family, as well as Art’s had a summer house there. At the time of their wedding, she was 25, living with her father and stepmother at 31 Garrison Avenue, Jersey City, N.J., and working as secretary to Arthur W. Page, vice-president of public relations at AT&T. Lou worked in this position until her first child was born in 1947. She also attended classes at Hunter College, NYC. In 1954 she and Art moved their family to Dallas, Texas. Lou was a strong believer in education and after her children were grown she entered the University of Texas at Dallas and graduated with a BA in 1980. While in school, she worked for Southern Methodist University and Dallas County, in a manpower training program. She retired in 1987. She was active in the Dallas League of Women Voters where she met many like-minded, longtime friends.
In their retirement years, Lou and Art enjoyed reading and attending the symphony and opera. They traveled the United States to see family members and to the Mediterranean, visiting Turkey and Greece, enjoying particularly the Parthenon in Athens. After her husband’s death in 1996, Lou moved to Valdosta to be near her daughter Jan and her family. She lived at Langdale Place until moving to the Presbyterian Home, Quitman, Ga., in 2001.
Lou is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Whit Fackler of Valdosta, Wendy and Joe Slaton of LaPlace, Ala., a son and daughter-in-law, Art and Kim Schneider of Seattle, Wash.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna Crawford of Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., Winnie Krasting of Vero Beach, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jackie Talbert of Greenville, Ga., formerly of Roanoke, Ala. and Jasper, Fla. passed away Friday, March 24, 2006. Interment will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2006, in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery near Jennings, Fla. — Harry T. Reid Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
