Clinch crushes Charlton County

Homerville —  The Clinch Panthers (4-3) and the Charlton County Indians (5-2) met in the annual rivalry game with some big time implications in Region 2-A.

Clinch put the first points of the game on the board with a run in the first quarter, a failed two-point conversion gave the Panthers a 6-0 lead.

Charlton was able to respond with a score of their own on the ensuing possession to take a brief 7-6 lead.

But the rest of the game would be all Clinch.

The Panthers took the lead right back with another impressive drive, after another failed conversion, Clinch was up 12-7.

Clinch ran a reverse to take a 20-7 lead. The score stood till the half.

The Panthers kept up the intensity in the second half by marching down-field and scoring on their first possession to put Clinch up 28-7.

The Panthers would score once more in the third quarter to push their lead to 34-7 — which would hold up as the final score.

Clinch travels to Lanier County next week to take on the struggling Bulldogs.
