a) Consideration of a request to close a section of Hampton Lane.



b) Consideration of an ordinance to rezone 1.2 acres from Residential-Professional (R-P) to Office-Professional (O-P) and for a Special Exception to establish a Daycare Center as requested by Brenda Findley (File No. VA-2008-21). The subject property is located at 512 North Forrest Street. The Planning Commission reviewed this at their May regular meeting and recommended approval (8-0).



c) Consideration of an ordinance to rezone .29 acres from Office-Professional (O-P) to Highway-Commercial (C-H) as requested by Ben Broomberg (File No. VA-2008-22). The subject property is located at 3175 Inner Perimeter Road. The Planning Commission reviewed this at their May regular meeting and recommended approval (8-0).



6. Bids, Contracts, Agreements, and Expenditures



a) Consideration of a Request for Proposal for a new play structure at Scott Park.



b) Consideration of bids for picnic shelters at Scott Park.



c) Consideration of a request from the Valdosta-Lowndes County Airport Authority to accept and execute the Federal Aviation Administration’s Grant Agreement and resolution for Taxiway A rehabilitation, grooving of Runway 35, and associated work (Airport Project #AIP-24).







7. Local Funding and Requests



a) Consideration of a request to apply for grant funds for the 2008 Edward Byrne Memorial Competitive Grant Program-National Initiatives.



b) Consideration of a request to authorize a feasibility study and preliminary design for an office facility for the Valdosta-Lowndes County Industrial Authority.



c) Consideration of a request to create a joint Capital Projects Coordinating Committee with the Valdosta Board of Education





8. Boards, Commissions, and Authorities



a) Consideration of an appointment to the Greater Lowndes Planning Commission.
