Police hunt for Mini Mart robber

VALDOSTA — Valdosta Police are looking for a suspect in a robbery of a Valdosta convenience store.

According to reports, officers responded Thursday to Lee’s Mini Mart at 507 East Ann Street at approximately 9:45 a.m. in reference to a robbery.

The owner of the store reported that a man in a black t-shirt jumped over the counter, struck him in the face, took $250 cash from the register and fled on foot.

The owner suffered a small cut on his forehead but refused medical assistance. Officers searched but were unable to locate the offender who was described by the victim as an black male between the ages of 25 and 30 with short hair and a beard.

Detectives are reviewing evidence which they believe will identify the suspect. Anyone having any further information regarding this crime or any other crime is urged to contact the Valdosta Police Department at 229-293-3145 or remain anonymous at 229-293-3091.
