Hugs of Hope and its supporters were hard at work Saturday morning raising awareness for pediatric cancer during its Fourth Annual Gold Bow Sale.
This organization helps support families with children suffering from cancer. All of the proceeds collected during the sale go towards helping these families with expenses including gas to get to and from appointments and other bills that they may have a hard time paying at the time.
The funds also go towards fun events for the families throughout the year including a Christmas party.
During the Gold Bow Sale, gold bows were sold for $5 each, for buyers to hang up at their homes or businesses.
The gold bows are a symbol of pediatric cancer awareness. Also on sale were magnets, window stickers and more.
Melanie Pitts, co-founder of Hugs of Hope, lost her daughter to cancer and has since made it her mission to help families fighting this battle. She said of the sale, "We are excited about all of the support we have had this year. It's about raising awareness in our community for childhood cancer."
