VALDOSTA — Two still images of two men suspected of the armed robbery of a furniture store were released Friday by the Valdosta Police Department.

Police hope the public can help investigators determine the identities of the individuals who held up the Kirkland’s furniture store on St. Augustine Road at gunpoint two weeks ago.

No one was injured in the March 1 incident. At approximately 2:45 p.m. that day, an African-American male, described as having slight facial hair, entered the store through the front door and headed into the back office with a gun, reports stated.

The man displayed a handgun and demanded money from the manager inside the office, before leaving the area in an easterly direction with another African-American male who had entered the store around the time of the robbery, according to reports.

Valdosta Police Department officers, detectives, and Lowndes County sheriff’s deputies were unable to locate the suspects on March 1 when they responded to the area, reports stated.

Anyone having any information regarding this crime is asked to call the police department, (229) 293-3145; or callers may remain anonymous via the crime tip line, (229) 293-3091.
