Two arrested in car break-ins

VALDOSTA — Valdosta police have made arrests in two theft by entering auto cases.

At approximately 2:15 a.m., while on patrol Thursday morning, Valdosta police spotted two males walking through front yards along the 1200 block of Gornto Road. After speaking with the individuals, police discovered that the two were in possession of a Garmin GPS unit, cellular phone and a drug related object, according to reports.

The GPS unit and cell phone were then identified as stolen items from two breaking and entering automobile cases in the area of Fieldcrest Drive and McRee Drive.

George Clements, 50, a Valdosta resident, was arrested on an outstanding parole violation warrant and charged with entering an auto to commit theft or felony and possession of a drug related object.

A 14-year-old juvenile who was with Clements was in possession of one of the stolen items. Charges against the juvenile are pending.

Clements was transported to the Lowndes County Jail.
