Northwind Apartment Homes: Leading Business of the Week

The Valdosta Daily Times

VALDOSTA — Northwind Apartment Homes has been recognized by the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce as the Leading Business of the Week for June 30. This award is presented each week to a business in good standing that has been a member of the Chamber for at least five years. The company will display the Leading Business of the Week banner, sponsored by New Hire Solutions, in their lobby for a week.

Northwind Apartment Homes is a local apartment and condominium complex that has been serving the Valdosta area for more than 14 years. The company attributes its long withstanding success in the community to its high standards in customer service as well as its proximity to several of the most economically vital organizations in the area, including Moody Air Force Base, Valdosta State University and Georgia Military College. “We believe our excellent customer service sets us apart from other apartment complexes,” says Kimberly Fay, the Assistant Property Manager at Northwind. “We also market closely with businesses in our community like VSU and GMC to try and reach current and future students.”

In addition to its customer service and location, Northwind considers its strong rapport with the community essential to the success of the business as well as the satisfaction of its customers. “We host quarterly coordinated events for residents including jewelry parties, bingo nights, yard sales, field days, pet adoption events, and Easter egg hunts and Halloween trick-or-treating for the children,” said Fay. Northwind’s family and pet-friendliness have made the location an excellent choice for families as well as college students who are looking for more responsible living arrangements.

Northwind also attributes some of its success with the community to its affiliation with the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce. “Our long-term relationship with the Chamber has boosted our credibility among the community,” says Fay. “The relationship helps us to continue to build respect and trust with our current residents as well as our contractors.” Fay also asserts that Northwind’s membership with the Chamber allows outreach beyond Valdosta. She believes Chamber networking opportunities open gateways for co-marketing among members.

The Chamber would like to extend a special thank-you to New Hire Solutions, the official 2014 Sponsor of Leading Business of the Week.
