The Valdosta Daily Times
In the fourth Valdosta shooting since Thursday, one person was shot Monday on Forrest Street.
Shortly after midnight Monday morning, police responded to South Georgia Medical Center after a 22-year-old Valdosta man was admitted to the emergency room for treatment of a gunshot to his neck, said Valdosta Police Department Lt. Aaron Kirk.
The victim told police that he was driving in the 1900 block of North Forrest Street with two female and one male passengers when a vehicle pulled next to his and opened fire. The driver was the only one hit and is expected to make a full recovery, Kirk said.
Police have identified a suspect in the case and are seeking an arrest warrant, said Kirk.
Valdosta Police Chief Brian Childress said the incident was the result of a domestic dispute and is unrelated to the pair of shootings at a Forrestwood Drive residence Thursday and Friday or the shooting death Saturday afternoon of Rufus Howard Ellis III at Park Chase Apartments on Old Statenville Road.
