VALDOSTA — An argument between two brothers led to a shooting Saturday morning in Valdosta, according to the Valdosta Police Department.

Justin Charles Arnold, 24, was arrested on a charge of felony aggravated assault under Georgia’s Family Violence Act, said Cmdr. Brian Childress of the VPD.

The shooting victim, Dijon Arnold, 21, was hospitalized and is “doing fine,” he said.

A police report listed 710 Holiday Street as the residence of both brothers.

Police were dispatched shortly after 8 a.m. to the Holiday Street residence on a report of a shooting, Childress said.

Officers found Dijon Arnold with a gunshot wound to the leg, Childress said, and he was transported to South Georgia Medical Center for treatment.

Other people at the residence talked with the police and said the two brothers had been arguing, Childress said. The argument escalated, and Dijon Arnold was shot outside the house, he said.

When officers got to the Holiday Street house, Justin Arnold was not on the scene, but was arrested nearby and taken to the Lowndes County Jail, Childress said.

The two brothers were apparently arguing over money when the shooting occurred, he said.
