Drug arrest in Echols County

ECHOLS COUNTY — The Echols County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest Friday after investigating a complaint of possible drug activity.

The investigation led sheriff’s deputies to execute a search warrant around 6:30 p.m. at 240 John Hampton Road, where the search revealed approximately 22 grams of cocaine and items including baggies, scales and cutting agents, according to reports.

The sheriff’s office said the items were “indicative of the sale of cocaine.” More than $1,000 in cash was also seized.

Marcus Robinson, 40, was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and two counts of felony possession of tools for the commission of a crime, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff Randy Courson encourages the community to assist with any information regarding illegal drug activity. Callers may remain anonymous.
