U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson visits Valdosta

VALDOSTA — Today from 2:30 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson will be hosting a town hall meeting at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, 4089 Val Tech Road, in the Lowndes Hall Auditorium.

During the meeting, Sen. Isakson will give a brief update from Washington, D.C. He will spend the remainder of the meeting taking questions from constituents. The public is invited to attend.

Sen. Isakson has served as a leader in Georgia for over thirty years. After serving 17 years in the Georgia Legislature and two years as Chairman of the Georgia Board of Education, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for the first of three terms before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004. He was re-elected to the Senate in 2010. He was also named to the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance in January 2013.

Isakson has played a pivotal role in numerous efforts, including the introduction of the Biennial Budgeting and Appropriations Act and co-sponsoring the Balance Budget Amendments and the Commitment to American Prosperity Act. He also was an original author of the No Child Left Behind Act. A cause close to his own heart, Isakson also works to strengthen the Armed Forces.
