Theater evacuated due to fire

No one injured in incident

VALDOSTA — Valdosta firefighters tackled a fire Saturday night that forced an evacuation of the Ashley Cinemas in Valdosta. The fire was apparently started by a short in the building’s sign, said Valdosta Fire Department Battalion Chief Frank McMillan.

Theater patrons were evacuated and gathered in the parking lot, watching as firefighters handled the situation. No one was injured, McMillan said.
