Bo Bice coming to Nashville

The Valdosta Daily Times

NASHVILLE — Bo Bice will be in concert tonight at Horse Creek Winery.

Bice is an “American Idol” finalist and recording artist who has released his fourth album, “New Soul Revival.”

He worked the Southern club circuit for years in a number of bands, including Blue Suede Nickel, Purge and Sugar Money. Although the groups made some in-roads, Bice’s initial claim to fame came in 2005, when the unknown singer auditioned for season four of “American Idol,” wowed the judges with his rendition of “Whipping Post” and reached the show’s final round only to be beaten by Carrie Underwood.

Bice topped the charts with “Inside Your Heaven,” a single from his 2005 debut album “The Real Thing,” and went on to tour and record with the likes of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Willie Nelson and Carlos Santana and Brothers of the Southland, as well as appearing at Bonnaroo.

He also recorded the studio albums “See the Light” and “3” which featured the crossover country hit “You Take Yourself With You.”

The gates open at 7 p.m. EggWater Palace plays at 8 p.m. and Bice performs at 9 p.m. No coolers will be allowed. Bring your own chair.

There will be food consessions available by Southern Landing.

Dawn Morrison, economic development director for the city of Nashville, said “The Better Hometown Organization is excited to host Bo Bice in Concert and we invite everyone to come enjoy this event.“

Morrison said the concert will be the wrapup to the Smithsonian exhibit “New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music.”
