Train, big rig collide in Clinch

-- — A train and a tractor-trailer collided Monday in Clinch County. The iincident occurred about two miles outside of Homerville in front of Ohio Mulch. The truck driver didn’t stop at the railroad crossing while leaving Ohio Mulch with a load of mulch at 8:22 a.m. Monday, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The engineer and the truck driver were transported to Clinch County Memorial Hospital but neither had serious injuries. The empty train was traveling west toward Valdosta about 40 miles an hour and derailed more than a dozen cars and engine.
