HeritageBank of the South’s Valdosta branch is proud to announce its donation to the Lowndes Associated Ministries to People (LAMP). The branch team members held a fund-raiser selling candy bars from October 2013 to December 2013 to benefit the non-profit organization.
Lowndes County’s local mission for the homeless, LAMP is dedicated to serving those in need by providing shelter for emergencies and long-term housing for homeless families, single parents and single women.
With the ultimate goal of returning the homeless to self-sufficiency, the organization provides several services including classes for the residents of the shelter and referrals to assisting community programs.
“After learning more about this organization and their needs, we felt a strong calling to help. This fundraiser was a way for us to spread the word about LAMP, as well as contribute to the community members who may not be as fortunate to have the basic necessities of food, water and shelter,” says Alicia DeRoche, Valdosta branch manager and LAMP board member.
