VALDOSTA — Fire trucks converged on the Langdale Saw Mill off Madison Highway around 10 p.m. Saturday evening after reports of a fire. Firefighters stayed on scene for several hours reportedly putting out hot spots in what is believed to have been an electrical fire. The extent of the damage was unknown Saturday night.

Water treatment plant discussed
The Lowndes County Board of Commissioners discussed purchasing two pieces of equipment for the Alapaha Water Treatment Plant and the Spring Creek System for a total of $1,638,000 during its Monday work session and is expected to vote on the issue tonight.
