VALDOSTA — Operation Moody Transition hosts an employment workshop next week for Moody Air Force Base personnel.

The workshop will cover available tax credits, explanation of the translatable skill sets being released, and quick certification programs available through higher education institutions.

This workshop will be 8:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, Georgia Department of Labor, 221 S. Ashley St.

This event is free to business vendors, but registration is required.

“Due to sequestration and military drawdown, Moody AFB will soon release approximately 400 personnel from active duty,” according to the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce. “The Operation Moody Transition campaign aims to showcase employment and education options available within South Georgia to those being released with hopes that they will remain in Valdosta-Lowndes and the surrounding area. This workshop targets employers in order to underscore the benefits of hiring veterans with the goal that employers will become better prepared to offer employment to those being released.”
