With the $2,500 reward still unclaimed and a beauty store employee’s shooting death still unresolved, the Valdosta Police Department issued another plea Wednesday morning for the public to step up and help investigators bring the man’s killer to justice.
Police need your help in solving the robbery and homicide of Kenwaljit Serai, who was shot while working at the Ashley Beauty Supply, 1507 B N. Ashley St., between 9:30-10 p.m., May 10, according to reports.
Authorities were notified of the shooting death after a person entered the store that evening and found Serai deceased inside the business, according to reports. Serai had lived in Valdosta for several years; he was married and he had children, reports stated.
The part of Ashley Street where the shooting occurred was described by police as a fairly busy area on a Friday evenings. Investigators have been holding out hope that someone saw something that will propel the investigation forward or that someone has at least overheard something that could be of help, however big or small, according to reports.
Valdosta Police Department detectives have been following leads and have kept the investigation going strong, but there are still too many pieces missing to pinpoint the perpetrator, reports stated.
The $2,500 reward still stands for anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person, or people, responsible for the death of Serai, according to reports.
