Colt Ford, the LACS added to Wild Adventures concerts

VALDOSTA — Georgia natives Colt Ford and the LACS return to their roots Aug. 2 when they take the stage at Wild Adventures Theme Park.

The double-header marks the 14th concert announced for the 2014 season bringing a unique new genre of music to the park popularly known as “hick-hop.”

Colt Ford, who was once described as “hard to categorize” in traditional country music, has sold more than a million “Declaration of Independence” albums and nearly three million downloads. The LACS is made up of hip-hop artist Clay “Uncle Snap” Sharpe and lead vocalist/guitarist Brian “Rooster” King. The two met and merged talent in Baxley.

Both Ford and the LACS are known as pioneers of “hick-hop” music which takes the story-telling of country music, adds a dash of hip-hop attitude and mixes it all in with a touch of rock’n’roll. The concert begins at 6 p.m.

Also announced, families will enjoy a big stage show on June 21 by KIDZ BOP. KIDZ BOP features five talented youngsters from across the United States, who sing and dance to popular hits redone for and by kids. Since its beginning in 2011, KIDZ BOP has sold more than 14 million albums and has been named the number one Kids’ Billboard Artists for the past four consecutive years. The show begins at 4 p.m. with free seats in the amphitheater on a first come first serve basis for Wild Adventures guests.

“We always strive to bring a wide variety of entertainment to our guests so there’s something for everyone.” General Manager Molly Deese said. “This season, there is definitely a concert or special event for every music lover in your family.”

The 2014 concert series continues this Saturday with Christian hip-hop artist Lecrae, who earned a Grammy for Best Gospel Album and several GMA Dove Awards. The concert begins at 8 p.m.
