Valdosta store robbery warrant issued, crime photos released

VALDOSTA — Valdosta Police Department issued this statement and photos this afternoon:



Arrest warrants for Robbery by Force and Battery have been issued on Demetrius Anderson for the September 19th robbery at Lee’s Mini Mart, 507 E. Ann Street. Anyone having information on Anderson’s location is asked to contact law enforcement.



Previous Release:

On September 19, 2013 at approximately 9:45 am, the Valdosta Police department responded to Lee’s Mini Mart, 507 E. Ann Street in reference to a robbery. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the owner ..., who indicated that an African American male, approximately 25-30 years of age, with short hair, a beard, and wearing a black shirt, jumped over the counter, struck him in the face, removed money from the cash drawer, and fled on foot. (The owner) had a small cut on his forehead, but refused medical assistance. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the offender. Detectives from the Valdosta Police Department and a Crime Scene Technician from the Valdosta Lowndes Crime Laboratory responded to investigate.  Detectives are currently reviewing evidence which they believe will lead to the identity of the offender.
