VALDOSTA — A person is offering a reward for a floor safe stolen last month during the burglary of a city residence, according to the Valdosta Police Department Tuesday.

The amount of the offered cash reward was not disclosed, according to the VPD, but it is being offered for the return of the stolen, dark-colored, large floor safe and the arrest and conviction of the person or persons involved in its theft, according to the VPD.

On Dec. 27, a Britain Drive resident “arrived home and discovered their family’s home had been burglarized,” according to police reports. “It appeared that entry had been made into a window of the residence.”

The safe, also described as three to four feet in height and “very heavy,” had been removed from the house.

“Detectives believe the safe was removed from the residence via the front door,” according to the VPD. “There is the possibility that a small vehicle or some type of utility vehicle may have been used in the burglary.”

No word on what specifically may be in the safe.
