Fugitive caught

VALDOSTA — A fugitive on Valdosta’s Most Wanted list was apprehended last week.

When Valdosta police narcotics officers were informed that 32-year-old Freddie Lee Finnissee Jr. may have been spotted, they immediately alerted members of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Special Response Team, according to a press release submitted by Valdosta Police Lt. Bobbi McGraw.

Finnissee was discovered on South Johnson Road near Clyattville.

According to McGraw, warrants were issued on Finnissee by the drug squad last year; however, attempts to apprehend the suspect were unsuccessful.

He now faces multiple counts of violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance Act, misdemeanor marijuana possession and two counts of obstruction. He is being held at the Lowndes County Jail.

“We would like to encourage all citizens to look at the city of Valdosta Web site, which shows a list of Valdosta’s Most Wanted,” McGraw said.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of a fugitive is advised not to approach the individual, but urged to contact the Valdosta Police Department at (229) 242-2606 or the 24-hour Crime Tip Line at (229) 293-3091.
