Letters from Santa Claus
VDT puts parents in touch with the North Pole, newspapers in schools

By Malynda Fulton

VALDOSTA — Who says Santa Claus isn’t real?

With The Valdosta Daily Times’ personalized Letters from Santa, the spirit of Jolly Old St. Nicholas is sure to stay alive in the hearts of children throughout the community.

From now until Dec. 10, parents can visit The Times’ Web site (www.valdostadailytimes.com) and click on the link that reads “Send Your Child a Letter from Santa.” A form will prompt parents to enter their child’s name, gender and age, as well as three accomplishments and three items on the child’s Christmas list.

The information will then be used to create a personalized letter on special stationery from Santa Claus. The letters will be sent through the mail and will have a North Pole postmark

The price of the personalized letter is $5 and all proceeds will go to the Newspapers in Education program, which provides free newspapers to local schools for classroom projects. Last year, The Times received approximately 80 submissions for Letters from Santa.

All submissions must be received by 5 p.m. on Dec. 10.
